“In God We Trust” Posters Now Prominently Displayed in Collin County Schools

Collin County, TX – On April 19, 2021, the Texas Legislature voted to pass Senate Bill 797 which requires all publicly funded schools in Texas to prominently display the national motto “In God We Trust” inside each school building.

Local Texas State Representative for District 70, Scott Sanford, recently experienced a fire at his local office building and was forced to liquidate the workspace. This severely impacted operations, including the delivery of framed national motto posters to all 35 of McKinney Independent School District (MISD) schools located in Collin County, Texas.

A McKinney resident reached out to Collin County Citizens Defending Freedom (CCDF-Collin) and spoke with Education Division Leader, Aileen Blachowski, about donating posters to their local schools. When Ms. Blachowski contacted Representative Sanford’s office to check the status of poster donations, she learned that they had the posters framed and ready but were unable to distribute them due to the fire. Ms. Blachowski offered to recruit local CCDF-Collin volunteers to coordinate distribution efforts. Now, thanks to the hard work of the dedicated citizens of Collin County, all 35 McKinney school campuses proudly display “In God We Trust” posters and are in compliance with Texas statutes.
